Terracotta Vase

CERAMICS OF GUADALAJARA

Designed and handcrafted in Guadalajara, a region of Mexico with a long history of ceramics production. Terracotta tones and a stonelike texture make this vase both distinctive and stunning.

We work with an artist, Dario, who designs and crafts each piece in his small studio. He utilizes local clay from the Tlaquepaque region and is inspired by the different pre-Hispanic cultures of Mexico. Dario is committed to keeping historical techniques alive today and, accordingly, he fires each piece with one of two traditional methods: an open fire, or an underground pit fire. The result is a very unique style of pottery that is both contemporary and rustic. Each piece is unique and has slight variations in size, appearance, and texture.

  • Handcrafted in Guadalajara, Mexico
  • Clay sourced locally from Tlaquepaque with a white glaze on the interior
  • ~ 5.5" H x 7.5" D
  • If needed, rinse carefully in water and lay upside down on a towel to dry

*Not designed to hold water, this vase is decorative in nature. It works well with dry arrangements or small stems wrapped in moist paper towels. The vase can accommodate drought-resistant plants (cacti, succulent) in dry soil if lightly watered. The clay may absorb some liquid but typically dries within a day.
