Talavera Style Serving Tray - White

HANDCRAFTED IN GUANAJUATO

Intricately hand-painted and glazed Talavera-style earthenware made by a family in the colonial highlands of Mexico. A strikingly beautiful tray in fresh, modern colors and perfect for serving dishes or appetizers. It also looks beautiful on a coffee table for displaying books, a candle, or a vase of followers.

This decorative type of pottery was introduced to Mexico by the Spanish in the early 16th century and is a mix of indigenous tradition, Spanish influence, and local adaptation. The process of creating these pieces is elaborate and can take days, weeks and even months, depending on the item. Locally sourced clay is shaped on a potters wheel, then hand-painted using a glaze dyed with all-natural pigments.

Dimensions: 8"H x 14"W
Materials: Terracotta clay and naturally-dyed glaze (100% lead free)
Care: This piece cannot be used in the microwave or dishwasher. Hand wash gently with soap and towel dry.
