Intricately hand-painted and glazed Talavera-style earthenware crafted by a family in the colonial highlands of Mexico. Our adorable bowl is the perfect size for storing spare change, jewelry and keys, or serving small items such as nuts, olives, dips, and more.

This decorative type of pottery was introduced to Mexico by the Spanish in the early 16th century and is a mix of indigenous tradition, Spanish influence, and local adaptation. The process of creating these pieces is elaborate and can take days, weeks and even months, depending on the item. Locally sourced clay is shaped on a potters wheel, then hand-painted using a glaze dyed with all-natural pigments.

Dimensions: 4" D x 1.5" H
Materials: Terracotta clay and naturally-dyed glaze (100% lead free)
Care: This piece cannot be used in the microwave or dishwasher. Hand wash gently with soap and towel dry.
